what is it?
Think of Excel as a super-smart digital notebook made of tables. It’s not for writing long stories, but for organizing information that has numbers, lists, and calculations.
For example: Your monthly expenses, class attendance sheet, cricket team scores, or even a list of your friends' birthdays.
Let's understand the 3 main parts:
The Workbook: This whole file is like a book. (Point to the screen)
The Worksheet (Sheet): Inside this book, each page is called a 'Sheet'. You see these tabs at the bottom? You can have many pages for different things.
The Cell: Each little box you see is called a 'Cell'. It’s the basic building block, like a single square in a chess board. This is where you type any information—text, numbers, or dates.
Excel has three big superpowers:
Superpower 1: Organization. It keeps your lists and data neat, sortable, and filterable. You can find anything in seconds.
Superpower 2: Calculation (The Real Magic!). Excel can do math for you—instantly! If you change one number, it updates all the related totals automatically. No more calculator needed!
Superpower 3: Visualization. It can turn boring numbers into beautiful charts and graphs (like pie charts, bar graphs) so you can see the story behind the data.
